Privacy policy

This website

• No cookies are set. None, of any kind.
• No analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no privacy-friendly analytics, no page-view counter, no session recording and no A/B testing.
• No third-party scripts, fonts or embeds. Every asset on this site is served from this site. Nothing loads from a content delivery network, an advertising network or a social platform, so no third party learns that you visited.
• No tracking pixels and no advertising. We do not run retargeting and do not build audiences.
• No forms. This site has nothing to submit and collects no personal data. Contact is a plain email address.

The site is hosted as static files on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, the hosting provider processes connection data such as IP addresses in order to serve the page and to protect the service from abuse, under its own infrastructure logging. We do not receive, request or retain visitor-level analytics from it.

The application

• No account. There is nothing to sign up for and no profile associated with your use of the software.
• No telemetry. No usage statistics, no feature analytics, no automatic crash reporting, no "anonymous" diagnostics.
• Your data stays on your machine. Birth data, charts, notes, tags and settings are stored in local files on your own computer. They are never uploaded, synchronised or backed up to us, because there is no server to upload them to.
• Chart calculation is entirely offline. The ephemeris data, atlas and time-zone rules ship inside the application.

The one network request the application makes

In the interest of describing this accurately rather than claiming the application never touches the network: licensed copies periodically download a public licence-revocation list, so that keys which were refunded or issued in error stop working. That request fetches a public file. It is a download, not an upload: it does not send your licence key, your charts, an identifier, or any account information, and no per-user record is created by it.

If you email us

If you write to [email protected], your message and email address are kept in an ordinary mailbox so the conversation can be continued. They are not added to a marketing list and are not shared. Ask and your correspondence will be deleted.

When purchasing opens

Ephemeris Lab is not yet on sale and no payment data is processed today. When the store opens, checkout will be operated by a merchant of record who acts as the seller and processes payment and billing details under its own privacy policy. We expect to receive only what is needed to issue and support a licence — an order reference and an email address — and never card details. This section will be updated with the provider's name and a link to its policy before any purchase is possible.

Your rights, and how to use them

Because the application collects nothing and this site collects nothing, there is generally no personal data of yours for us to hold. Where there is — an email exchange, or later an order record — you may ask for a copy of it, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to [email protected] and it will be handled directly by the owner.

Changes

If this policy changes materially — in particular when the store opens — the updated date at the top of this page will change and the new terms will be described here rather than quietly substituted.
